Pandora's Box and the Final Road Show Performance

Individual acts rocked their Pandora's Box themed show.

The acts were paired together to show two opposing ideas.

Such as chaos and entropy....

...versus order.

Their hard work and dedication paid off!

Next we saw the Road Show's final performance.

They have taken this show all around Vermont for audiences young and old.

Today they performed for the best crowd of all--friends and family!

It has been an exciting summer!  We saw new faces and reunited with old friends.  Each session campers grow and learn with us and then they return to the world with new knowledge.  It is the greatest hope of the Smirkus camp staff that the campers they know and love will venture into the world with open minds and open hearts, sharing the Smirkus spark with everyone they meet!

Don't forget there are thousands of photos of 2012 Smirkus Camp Flickr photo account!  Train hard!  We'll see you next year!

Ensemble Visits the Land of Oz!

Road Show hit the streets of Burlington in one of their last shows of the session.

Ensemble did their final performance for family and friends!

A storm came through Dorothy's home town...

And she sure wasn't in Vermont anymore!

Glenda the good witch declared the Land of Oz free from the Wicked Witch's rule!

The flying monkeys weren't so sure about that.

We did a little jungle boogie in the Land of Oz.

We were all put under a beautiful spell.

Dorothy and her friends made it to Emerald City!

They had fun with the locals.

There was a swarm of flying monkeys at the witch's castle!

The wicked witch did not respond well to water spitting.

After the show it was time for goodbyes and signed t-shirts.

These folks stay another day until their own individual and road show performances.

We have had an amazing session this year and are excited for the individual show and the Road Show's final performance!  Stay tuned for more pictures and check out the Flickr for some photographic memories.

Ensemble Show!

Ensemble has a Wizard of Oz theme this session!

Dorothy isn't in Vermont anymore...

But she ran into the Wicked Witch of the West Coast!

There was a sad scarecrow along the way.

There was also some jungle fever...

And a lion without courage.

The Witch has her spell over everyone in the land of Oz.

The tin man got involved with some mischief!

Emerald city welcomed them....

But it was a little funny inside.

Individual acts has started running their show!

There are many acts and they are sure to blow you away!

Stay tuned for Ensemble's performance pictures on the Flickr photo account!  Tomorrow is the Individual Show and Road Show's last performance!

25th Anniversary Tour!

Road Show enjoys a beautiful day performing their traveling circus show for the crowd.

Ensemble and Individual acts started the morning with an obstacle course!

Coaches made use of many different juggling and acro tools to make warming up in the morning fun.

Ensemble has finished choreographing the group acts and is spending today smoothing them out.

The aerial acts are bigger and better than ever!

Last night we hopped on the bus and drove to Montpelier to see the Smirkus Tour!

The campers were thrilled when the troupers climbed into the stands after the show to answer questions and say hello.

Camp and tour are two halves of the same whole.  It is amazing when campers can speak to members of tour, as many troupers were once campers themselves!

Two camp staff members happened to be turning a year older so they received a special birthday surprise from tour!

Seeing tour's magic is helping campers work hard through the last days of rehearsals for the end of session shows.  Check out other pictures from camp on the Flickr photo account and get ready for more!

Road Show is on the Road!

Road Show has hit the road with their 50s themed performance.

They took a moment after each performance to converse with their fans.

The rest of camp looked for Road Show until they remembered they were busy.

Then we got back to business.

Group acts for the show are coming along nicely.

There was lots of balance practice in juggling.

The aerial acts are bigger than ever!

The end of session shows are sure to be a blast.

Everyone is working together to make this the greatest show so far!

There are more pictures coming soon!  Stay tuned for more as they arrive and catch up on camp happenings here.
