Session II - Day Four

Thursday was the fourth day of circus fun for the campers of Session II.


The campers continued to improve their skills in Aerials class.


Some campers enjoyed a hula hoops class during choice time.


Other campers worked on their juggling.


Fabric was the most popular choice in Aerials.


In Acrobatics the campers worked on building pyramids.


Most of the day was spent simply having fun.


In the evening we held a camper talent show so everyone could display their non-circus talents!

Session II - Day Three

Today was another great day of circus!


Some campers worked on mastering the unicycle.



In Aerials class the campers learned more advanced tricks on the fabric.


In Performance class the campers practiced silly walks.


The campers also enjoyed working with the lyra.


In Juggling class campers worked on their three ball patterns.


Today's afternoon activity was Pie Day!


Everyone spent the afternoon throwing pies.



Everyone had a great time and ended up covered in soap!

Session II - Day Two

Today was the second day of circus for the campers of Session II!


In Performance class the campers practiced their clowning skills.


In Juggling class the campers worked on partner juggling.


Some also worked on diabolo.


Stilts was a popular choice during afternoon tent time.


In Aerials class the campers practiced tying foot-knots on the fabric.


Today's afternoon activity was Improv Games.


The dinner dress-up theme was Jocks vs. Nerds.


The evening ended with a camp-wide game of Capture the Flag.

Session II

Today was the first day of circus for the campers of Session II!


In Aerials class the campers were introduced to the web.


Campers also learned how to walk the tightwire.


The trapeze was another popular apparatus in Aerials class.


In Juggling the campers worked on three balls.


During afternoon tent time some of the campers tried triple trapeze!


While others enjoyed the lyra.


The dinner dress up theme was superheroes!


The first day ended with an evening of "Dutch Auction" -- where the campers dressed up in costumes and used props to act out certain scenes.

Sesssion I - Day Five

Today was the last full day of circus for the campers of Session I.


In Performance class the campers put the finishing touches on their clown gags, and learned how to style.


In Juggling class the campers played games that involved the whole group juggling at once!


Some of the campers incorporated props and slapstick into their clown routines.


While others wanted to see just how many spinning plates they could hold at one time.


In aerials the campers planned and rehearsed the tricks they want to display during the showcase.


Everyone spent the afternoon deciding what to show their parents.


The campers are all very excited to show off their new circus talents!

Session I - Day Four

The campers spent their fourth day of camp honing their circus talents.


In Acrobatics class the campers practiced their dive rolls.


In Juggling, some worked on passing clubs.


Others worked on back handsprings.


Cigar boxes were introduced in Juggling class.


The campers' Rolling Globe skills continued to soar.


Some campers graduated to tall stilts!


Pyramids were another fun challenge in Acrobatics class.


As the day went on, the pyramids became more and more advanced.


To perfect remedy for a hot summer day was Pie Day! The whole camp spent the afternoon throwing pies in each others faces.

Session I - Day Three

Today was another great day at Smirkus Camp.


In aerials the campers practiced more and more advanced skills.


Some chose to focus on the Web.


In Performance class the campers worked on their clowning.


Others practiced their juggling.


The campers have been introduced to a number of props in Juggling class.


Stilts was a popular choice during afternoon tent time.


As was the rolling globe.


The evening activity was the Camper Talent Show!


The campers had a chance to show off their non-circus skills, which included dancing, singing, and even some magic!
